Hypnosis is a trance-like mental state in which people experience increased attention, concentration, and hyper suggestibility; which we all experience on a daily basis. Have you ever gotten in the car to drive home, only to remember starting your car and arriving, but not stopping at lights or switching lanes? What about watching a two hour movie only to feel like 30 minutes have passed? Have you ever been deeply engrossed in a book or mindlessly scrolling on your phone? These are all examples of periods throughout the day where we go in and out of hypnosis. It is during these periods that our subconscious mind is extremely open and receptive to suggestions and words around us.
